Assetto Corsa Rally: Hotfix Released & Special Message from Creative Director
Assetto Corsa Rally: Hotfix Released & Special Message from Creative Director
Supernova Games Studios responds swiftly to community feedback with crucial update
Just days after the Early Access launch of Assetto Corsa Rally, the development team at Supernova Games Studios has demonstrated their commitment to the community by releasing a critical hotfix and sharing a personal message through Creative and Game Director Irvin Zonca.
The Hotfix: Logitech G29 FFB Issue Resolved
The corrective update focuses on a specific issue that affected users of the popular Logitech G29 wheel. Force feedback (FFB), a fundamental element for the driving experience in a rally simulator like Assetto Corsa Rally, was not functioning correctly with this device, significantly compromising the immersion and realism of the simulation.
Patch Notes:
- Fixed the FFB issue on the Logitech G29 wheel
This prompt intervention demonstrates the team's attention to community feedback and their commitment to ensuring an optimal experience for all players, regardless of their hardware configuration.
Message from the Creative Director
Irvin Zonca, a key figure in the development of Assetto Corsa Rally and an industry veteran with over 40 games to his credit (many developed during his long career at Milestone), personally addressed the community through a video message.
In his statement, Zonca expressed the gratitude of the entire Supernova Games Studios team for the warm reception given to the game. The Creative Director emphasized how the team has been literally "blown away" by the enthusiasm, kind words, and especially the valuable feedback shared by players.
"Hello everyone," the team began in the official announcement, "firstly, thank you all for the amazing support you've shown Assetto Corsa Rally since launch. We've truly been blown away by your kind words, your enthusiasm, and, most importantly, the feedback you've shared."
Assetto Corsa Rally: A Project Born from Passion
Assetto Corsa Rally represents the first rally-dedicated chapter within the celebrated Assetto Corsa franchise. Developed by Supernova Games Studios in technical partnership with KUNOS Simulazioni and published by 505 Games, the title was released in Early Access on Steam on November 13, 2025, priced at €29.99 / $29.99 / £24.99.
The project is the result of four years of intense development by a team formed in 2021, initially consisting of just three people. Supernova has benefited from an exclusive partnership with KUNOS Simulazioni, which for the first time shared its Assetto Corsa physics engine, knowledge, and data with an external team.
Cutting-Edge Technical Features
Assetto Corsa Rally stands out for its use of latest-generation technology:
- Physics Engine: Refined version of the acclaimed Assetto Corsa physics engine, specifically adapted for rally needs, with realistic simulation of front-wheel drive (FWD), rear-wheel drive (RWD), and all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle dynamics
- Graphics: Based on a customized build of Unreal Engine 5, optimized for racing game requirements
- 3D Laser Scanning: All tracks and cars recreated through 3D laser scanning technology, ensuring millimeter precision
- Realistic Audio: Sounds recorded from real vehicles, with particular attention to detail both inside and outside the cockpit
- Professional Co-driver: Pace notes system developed in collaboration with professional co-drivers, who also lend their original voices
Early Access Content
At launch, Assetto Corsa Rally offers:
- 10 meticulously detailed iconic cars, including Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Hyundai i20 Rally2, Peugeot 208 Rally4, Fiat 131 Abarth, and Lancia 037
- 4 laser-scanned stages, from the gravel routes of Wales to the tarmac stages of Alsace
- Dynamic conditions: Dynamic weather system, day-night cycles, and varying road surface conditions
- Realistic damage: Physics-based damage system and destructible environments
- Multiple game modes: Single special stage, full rally weekend, Assetto Corsa Rally Events, Time Attack with online leaderboards, and Free Practice mode
Future Roadmap
The team has already planned substantial content for the Early Access program extending throughout 2026:
- 6 additional special stages
- Expansion to 30 total vehicles
- New game modes: Career Mode, Rally School
- VR Support: Currently in testing phase, will be implemented when visual quality meets the team's desired standards
- Triple screen support: Already confirmed
- Multiplayer: Planned for Release 0.3 of the Early Access program
The Importance of Community Feedback
The hotfix announcement and Zonca's message underscore a fundamental aspect of Supernova Games Studios' approach: active listening to the community. The Early Access program is not simply seen as an early preview of the final product, but as an opportunity for players to actively contribute to the game's development.
"As part of the Early Access community, your input is vital to shaping Assetto Corsa Rally," the team stated. "Your feedback, suggestions, and reports help us refine every aspect of the game, from driving physics and stage balance to performance and features."
Filling a Market Gap
The Assetto Corsa Rally project stems from recognizing a gap in the current gaming landscape: a modern rally simulator that meets enthusiasts' expectations. As stated by Maura Notarberardino, Director at Supernova Game Studios: "Feeling the lack of a modern rally simulator, we've built a team and developed a technology to create one ourselves, with support of drivers, engineers, collectors, mechanics, and industry experts."
The context is particularly favorable: following EA's acquisition of Codemasters and the subsequent termination of the WRC partnership, and with Nacon restarting development of WRC-licensed titles, Assetto Corsa Rally arrives at the perfect time to satisfy rally simulation enthusiasts' hunger.
Conclusions
The prompt hotfix and Irvin Zonca's personal message represent more than just a technical update: they are tangible proof of Supernova Games Studios' commitment to the community and their determination to create a rally simulator truly worthy of the Assetto Corsa name.
With a team composed of industry veterans from Milestone, Codemasters, and Slightly Mad Studios, and with technical support from KUNOS Simulazioni, Assetto Corsa Rally promises to be the ultimate rally simulator for enthusiasts seeking authenticity, precision, and challenge. The Early Access journey has just begun, and the road to version 1.0 promises to be as exciting as a special stage in the heart of Wales.
