Assetto Corsa EVO Approaches Public Release with Critical 0.3.3 Update Now Available on Steam Open Beta
Assetto Corsa EVO Approaches Public Release with Critical 0.3.3 Update Now Available on Steam Open Beta
Kunos Simulazioni developers have just released version 0.3.3 of Assetto Corsa EVO on the Steam Open Beta branch, marking a crucial moment in the development of the highly anticipated racing simulator. This update represents a release candidate for the public branch, with the team aiming for an official release during the current week, provided no critical issues emerge.
Significant Multiplayer Improvements
The most relevant aspect of this update concerns substantial improvements made to the multiplayer system. Developers have resolved a persistent issue that caused the setup page to hang during session changes in multiplayer, a problem that had frustrated many players in previous beta versions.
Numerous client and server-side updates have been implemented to improve overall server stability, accompanied by increased software timeout and additional logging functionality to facilitate monitoring and resolution of potential issues. A bug affecting opponent car audio in the netcode has also been fixed.
Vehicle Physics Refinements
The physics department received particular attention, with minor but significant adjustments to steering, power, and gear ratios for eleven vehicles in the roster. The affected cars include iconic models such as the BMW M3 E30, Mercedes 190E Evo II, Ferrari 296 GTB, Lancia Delta, Lotus Emira and Exige V6, Audi RS 3 and RS 6, BMW M2 CS Racing, Toyota GR86, and Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI.
A particularly important update concerns the Lamborghini Huracán ST Evo2, which received new setup limits based on updated data, promising an even more realistic and faithful driving experience compared to its real-world counterpart.
User Interface Optimizations
The user experience has benefited from several improvements, including significant optimizations to the Paintshop editor, which should now feel more fluid and responsive. The server list now remembers filters and sorting options, greatly improving navigation for players seeking specific multiplayer sessions.
Various fixes for user interface navigation have been implemented, with particular attention to the server lobby page. The HUD/MFD system has been refined to avoid entering control isolation mode when the HUD is invisible, and to correctly restore isolation mode when the HUD is restored with an interactive MFD page active.
Graphics Updates and Visual Details
The graphics department hasn't been neglected, with specific updates to the lighting systems of the Chevrolet Camaro, Lamborghini Huracán STO, and Toyota GR86. Particular attention has been dedicated to Porsche vehicle LED scripts, with the 992 GT3 Cup and 718 Cayman GT4 CS receiving significant updates.
The BMW M4 GT3 has also benefited from LED script updates conforming to Evo specifications, while models like the BMW M2 CS, Audi RS 3 and RS 6, and BMW M4 CSL have received minor but important updates to their digital dashboards.
Toward Public Release
The development team has expressed sincere gratitude to the community for the valuable feedback provided during the beta phase and for the patience shown during this development process. The stated goal is to release this version to the public branch within the week, provided no critical issues emerge during community beta testing.
This update represents a fundamental step toward stabilizing Assetto Corsa EVO, demonstrating Kunos Simulazioni's commitment to perfecting every aspect of the game before its official release to the general public.
