RaceRoom Q4 2025: DTM Takes Center Stage in the Year's Final Update
RaceRoom Q4 2025: DTM Takes Center Stage in the Year's Final Update
KW Studios closes 2025 in grand style with the highly anticipated Q4 update for RaceRoom Racing Experience, available from December 4th. This final update of the year brings two major DTM packs that will delight touring car racing enthusiasts: the legendary 2002 DTM season and the official 2025 DTM championship, along with the debut of the BMW M4 GT3 EVO.
DTM 2002: The Return of a Legendary Era
The update represents a dive into the glorious past of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, faithfully recreating one of the category's most iconic seasons. 2002 was a memorable year that saw the introduction of standing starts in modern DTM, with a grid composed of an explosive mix of international touring car legends, former Formula 1 drivers, and local heroes.
The Three Starring Cars
Abt-Audi TT-R: The true protagonist of the 2002 season, the Audi TT-R driven by Laurent Aïello represents one of DTM's most fascinating stories. This car allowed a privateer team, Abt Sportsline, to triumph against two factory giants. During development, KW Studios had direct access to the real car through collaboration with Abt and KW Automotive, allowing them to reproduce details, proportions, and dynamic behavior with millimeter precision. Aïello's title paved the way for Audi's official entry into DTM as a manufacturer in 2004.
AMG-Mercedes CLK-DTM: With Bernd Schneider at the wheel, the Mercedes-Benz CLK showed its enormous potential in the 2002 season, securing an impressive second place with 14 podiums in just 20 races. Despite only two wins, its performance consistency demonstrated the quality of the Affalterbach machine, which would dominate in 2003 with nine wins out of ten races and another teams' title. The 2002 version differs from the 2003 CLK already present in RaceRoom with different aerodynamic components, distinctive liveries, and a larger fuel tank, due to the absence of mid-race refueling.
Opel Astra V8 Coupé: While not winning races in 2002, the Opel Astra V8 distinguished itself with one pole position and four podiums thanks to the efforts of Manuel Reuter and Alain Menu. Although the Rüsselsheim car lacked the incisive pace of its German rivals, it represents an important piece of DTM history and completes the 2002 grid.
Total Authenticity
Every car in the DTM 2002 pack is available with all official team liveries that participated in the season: HWA, Persson, Manthey, Rosberg, Abt, Phoenix, Holzer, and Euroteam. Enthusiasts can faithfully relive the entire championship, with all tracks from the 2002 season already available in RaceRoom, including Zandvoort in its 2019 variant without banking.
DTM 2025: The Modern GT3 Era
The second major content of the update brings RaceRoom into the present with the official DTM 2025 pack. The main novelty is the debut of the BMW M4 GT3 EVO, which introduces to the simulator the revised aerodynamics, visual changes, and performance characteristics of the updated Bavarian machine.
The pack includes all official liveries from the 2025 season, although the complete grid is missing: due to licensing issues, the Ford Mustang GT3 and Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo will not be available at launch. This means that of the 24 cars that composed the real 2025 DTM grid, four will remain absent. Interestingly, Ford is already present in RaceRoom with other models (including the 2013 Ford GT GT3 and the 1992 Mustang GT DTM), while Aston Martin is completely absent from the simulator's roster.
However, all tracks from the 2025 DTM calendar are available in RaceRoom: Oschersleben, Lausitzring, Norisring, Nürburgring, Red Bull Ring, Sachsenring, Zandvoort, and Hockenheimring allow enthusiasts to race the entire championship.
Improvements and Additional Features
Beyond automotive content, the Q4 2025 update may include the expansion of the new user interface design already seen in the ranked multiplayer system. Christian Baur, RaceRoom's Director of Strategy and Sales, confirmed that the goal is to extend the new design across the entire game, replacing the current interface with a more modern and coherent one.
KW Studios has also hinted at the possible introduction of a new track, maintaining the strategy of adding content each quarter to keep the community engaged.
A Growing Simulator
RaceRoom Racing Experience is experiencing a true renaissance. After the major graphics upgrade in Q3 2025 and the introduction of the native ranked multiplayer system, the simulator has recorded its highest player numbers since 2020. The Q4 2025 update arrives at a perfect moment to capitalize on this momentum, offering nostalgic and modern content that satisfies all types of touring car racing enthusiasts.
With its ability to recreate historic cars with an almost tactile personality and its status as the official virtual home of DTM, RaceRoom confirms itself as the reference point for touring car racing enthusiasts. The Q4 2025 update is not just a content addition, but a celebration of motorsport history and a bridge to the future of competitive sim racing.
