iRacing: Season 4 2025 Patch 4 Released
Critical Update Resolves Performance Issues and Introduces Major Improvements
On November 18, 2025, iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations deployed Patch 4 for Season 4 2025, a crucial update that addresses critical performance issues and introduces numerous improvements to the renowned online racing simulator. The update, identified as version [2025.11.18.02], was released following scheduled maintenance that began at 08:00 EST on November 19.
Critical Framerate Fix
The centerpiece of this patch is undoubtedly the resolution of an extremely frustrating issue that plagued many users: the drastic framerate drop after an extended period of racing. This recent but prevalent bug caused significant graphics performance reductions during racing sessions, compromising gameplay experience and driver competitiveness. The development team worked intensively to identify and correct this problem, which has now been completely resolved.
Race Control System Improvements
The patch introduces substantial refinements to the race control system, with particular attention to verification precision. The system for detecting missed checkpoints and course-cutting infractions (which lead to black flags) has been optimized with slightly improved precision, ensuring greater fairness in competitions and reducing instances of incorrect penalties.
Artificial Intelligence Progress
AI racing enthusiasts will be pleased to know that computer-controlled drivers have significantly improved their driving skills at the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, the legendary French circuit. This improvement makes AI races more realistic and competitive, offering an even more valuable training experience for drivers looking to perfect their skills before tackling online competitions.
Audio and Interface Optimizations
The patch also resolves a particularly irritating audio issue: the engine RPM sound of nearby opponent cars that could appear substantially too high compared to reality. This correction contributes to a more immersive and realistic sound experience during close racing.
Regarding the user interface, several important fixes have been implemented:
-
Improved Skew Meter: The performance and functionality of the Skew (S) meter have been improved, offering more accurate and reliable data for telemetry analysis.
-
Corrected Bindings: Some bindings for Best Times and Delta Times have been corrected, ensuring functions respond correctly to assigned commands.
-
Relative Display: A subtle background has been added to the Player's entry for Relative Brake Bias, improving readability during driving.
Settings Corrections
The development team resolved two bugs related to the settings menu:
-
FOV Calculator: An issue preventing the Field of View calculator from accepting text inputs has been corrected, now allowing drivers to manually enter desired values.
-
Custom Sectors: The Custom Sector box now correctly displays +/- times, enabling better performance analysis on individual track sectors.
Community Impact
This update represents an important step in iRacing's ongoing commitment to providing the best possible simulation experience. The resolution of the framerate issue, in particular, has been met with great enthusiasm from the community, which had reported this problem as one of the most urgent to address.
Patch 4 fits into the context of an already content-rich Season 4 2025, which saw the introduction of the new simulator user interface, three new cars (Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO, Dallara IL-15, and Ford Mustang GT4), and the new Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit in Mexico with seven different configurations.
Conclusions
With this patch, iRacing once again demonstrates its commitment to maintaining the simulator at the highest quality level, promptly responding to community feedback and resolving reported issues. Drivers can now enjoy smoother and more stable racing sessions, with a more responsive interface and an overall improved experience.
Season 4 2025 Patch 4 is available for download through the iRacing client and is automatically installed when launching the simulator.
