NASCAR 25: The New Official Game Arrives October 14th, 2025
The world of racing video games is preparing to welcome a new chapter in the NASCAR series with the official announcement of NASCAR 25, which will be available from October 14th, 2025 for next-generation consoles.
Release Date and Platforms
NASCAR 25 will make its debut on October 14th, 2025, but initially it will be available exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. PC players will have to wait a bit longer: while the game is confirmed for Steam, the release date for this platform has not yet been announced, although it's expected "soon."
The phased release strategy recalls that adopted for World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing '24, another iRacing and Monster Games title, which took about five months to transition from consoles to Steam.
Development and Creative Team
The project represents a significant moment for the NASCAR franchise, being the first official NASCAR game under iRacing's stewardship. Development is primarily handled by the Monster Games team, acquired by iRacing in 2022. This team boasts solid experience in the genre, having previously developed the NASCAR Heat series.
The combination promises to be winning: Monster Games' consolidated experience joins iRacing's advanced technology, using Unreal Engine for graphics and incorporating some distinctive iRacing assets, such as laser-scanned tracks and extremely detailed car models.
Main Game Features
NASCAR 25 presents itself as a complete experience for series enthusiasts:
- Four complete NASCAR series
- Laser-scanned tracks for unprecedented realism
- Online multiplayer with customizable private lobbies
- Graphics powered by Unreal Engine
- Ultra-detailed car models
However, the game will not include cross-platform play or a native ranked multiplayer system, choices that might disappoint some modern players accustomed to these features.
Gameplay Previews
Currently, the gameplay material shown to the public is limited. Developers have mainly shared trackside scenes within developer diaries and a brief clip in the release date announcement, showing William Byron's #24 Chevrolet. The images, deliberately shaky and with some apparently skipped frames, offer only a taste of the game's visual potential, showing particle effects when the car touches the wall.
Matt Lewis, the game's producer, announced that the complete gameplay unveil is expected for "late August, somewhere in that window," when we can finally fully assess the visual quality and game mechanics.
Expectations and Prospects
NASCAR 25 represents an important opportunity for the franchise to renew itself and win over a new generation of players. The combination of iRacing's technical expertise in the field of racing simulations and Monster Games' experience in developing NASCAR games could result in the best NASCAR experience ever created for consoles.
The use of cutting-edge technologies like laser-scanned tracks, already appreciated by the PC sim racing community, brings a level of precision and realism that could significantly elevate the console gaming experience.
Conclusions
With NASCAR 25, iRacing and Monster Games aim to establish a new standard for NASCAR racing games. The wait for the complete gameplay reveal in late August will be crucial to understand if the technical promises will translate into a gaming experience that meets expectations. October 14th, 2025 will be a date to mark on the calendar for all NASCAR and sim racing enthusiasts.
