Gran Turismo 7: July 2025 Update - Everything You Need to Know
Gran Turismo 7: July 2025 Update - Everything You Need to Know
Sony and Polyphony Digital have confirmed the exact car specifications for Gran Turismo 7's upcoming update. Following last week's announcement by Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi, who teased the arrival of three new vehicles, we now have all the details about this highly anticipated update.
Three New Cars
The July 2025 update brings three very different vehicles to the racing simulator:
Honda N-ONE RS '22
The small Japanese kei car represents an interesting choice for brand enthusiasts. Despite its compact dimensions and limited power, the N-ONE RS offers a unique driving experience thanks to its low weight, turbocharged engine, and most importantly, the six-speed manual transmission in the RS version.
This vehicle is particularly fascinating because it's not sold in Western markets, making it a curiosity for most players. In Japan, there's even a one-make racing series dedicated to this car. The tuning and livery customization possibilities promise to be enormous, representing the very essence of Gran Turismo.
NISMO R34 GT-R Z-tune '05
While the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 is already present in the game, this version represents something truly special. The Z-tune is an extremely rare variant developed by NISMO, Nissan's performance division.
The most interesting feature of this version is that, being technically registered as "NISMO" rather than "Nissan," it didn't have to comply with the Japanese agreement that limited sports car power to 276 hp. Consequently, it produces a full 500 hp and was manufactured in only 19 units, including two prototypes. This rarity means these cars now sell for over one million dollars.
Nissan Qashqai Tekna 190 2wd e-Power '22
The Nissan crossover represents the most controversial choice in the update. It's a compact SUV with the e-Power hybrid system, following the recent trend of including similar vehicles in the game. While it may not excite sports car enthusiasts, it still expands the range of available vehicles for different types of driving experiences.
GT Sophy Expansion
The slow but steady development of Sony AI and Polyphony Digital's AI-powered racing agent continues with the addition of High Speed Ring to the list of GT Sophy-compatible tracks.
Unfortunately, GT Sophy is still not available for main career mode events, limiting the usage possibilities of this advanced technology.
New Single-Player Content
The update also includes new single-player content:
New World Circuits Races:
- Lightweight K-Cup - Nürburgring Nordschleife
- Japanese FF Challenge 450 - Alsace Test Course
- Race of Turbo Sportscars - Fuji International Speedway
New Photography Scenes
New locations have been added to Scapes mode, this time with a "pine trees" theme, offering new creative opportunities for virtual photography enthusiasts.
New Livery
An additional livery will be available for the existing Lexus RC F GT3. This is the design used by Gran Turismo virtual racing champion Igor Fraga in the real-world 2025 Super GT championship, creating an interesting connection between virtual and reality.
What's Missing
Despite this content, the update doesn't include new tracks or new Cafe Menu Books. However, additional engine swaps and other modifications are likely to be added, which will be revealed with the complete patch notes upon release.
The update will be available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on July 24, 2025, continuing the constant support that Polyphony Digital provides for its flagship racing simulator.
