The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport Sets Assetto Corsa EVO Tracks Ablaze
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport Sets Assetto Corsa EVO Tracks Ablaze
Summer 2025 - Kunos Simulazioni's driving simulator is preparing to welcome one of the most desired track-focused cars from the Porsche range. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport is about to make its debut in Assetto Corsa EVO as part of the significant 0.3 update, promising to revolutionize this summer's multiplayer sessions.
First GT4 Car in AC EVO
The arrival of the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport marks a historic moment for Assetto Corsa EVO: it will be the first GT4 category vehicle to enter the simulator's roster. This represents a significant expansion of available car classes, which had previously favored road cars, hypercars, and some GT2s, with the addition of cup cars like the Porsche Carrera Cup and BMW M2.
The 0.3 update won't be limited to just the Cayman GT4. Players will be able to count on 8 new cars in total and 2 brand-new circuits, making this one of the most substantial updates since the simulator's Early Access launch.
Pure Track DNA
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport isn't a simple road car conversion. Born three years after the debut of the first-generation Cayman GT4 Clubsport, this evolution represents the pinnacle of Porsche Motorsport engineering dedicated to customer racing.
Main technical specifications:
- Engine: Mid-mounted 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six
- Power: 385 hp (283 kW) at 7,500 rpm
- Torque: 420 Nm at 6,600 rpm
- Transmission: 6-speed PDK dual-clutch
- Weight: 1,300 kg (2,866 lbs)
- Top speed: 295 km/h
Two Souls for Every Need
In the real world, the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport is offered in two distinct variants, designed to satisfy different competitive needs:
Trackday Version: Designed for passionate amateur drivers who want an uncompromising track driving experience while maintaining relative accessibility of use.
Competition Version: Intended for national and international competitions, with even more refined technical specifications and higher-level racing components.
It remains to be seen whether Kunos Simulazioni will implement both configurations within AC EVO's extensive customization system, allowing players to choose between the two variants through the setup menus.
Precision Engineering
The Cayman GT4 Clubsport's design philosophy is based on three fundamental pillars: lightness, agility, and precision. The chassis uses a weight-optimized aluminum-steel hybrid construction, derived from the road-going Cayman GT4 base but completely reworked for track use.
The front suspension system derives directly from the 911 GT3 Cup, while the rear maintains the MacPherson strut architecture of the road GT4 but with modified wishbones also borrowed from the Cup. This mix guarantees surgical driving precision in corners and unmatched stability at high speeds.
The aerodynamics have been completely revised compared to the previous generation, with the introduction of a rear wing with "swan neck" mounting that significantly improves aerodynamic efficiency and downforce.
Multiplayer Impact
Developers and the community agree: the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport has all the characteristics to become the absolute protagonist of AC EVO's multiplayer sessions. Its combination of high but manageable performance, combined with traditional Porsche reliability, makes it ideal for close and spectacular competitions.
The GT4 category represents the perfect compromise between performance and accessibility, allowing drivers of different levels to compete on equal terms, where the difference is made primarily by driving skill and strategy rather than the pure power of the car.
ACC Legacy and New Perspectives
The Cayman GT4 Clubsport isn't completely new to the Assetto Corsa franchise. Assetto Corsa Competizione players already know it well, having been one of the protagonists of the GT4 category in the GT racing-focused simulator.
However, the implementation in AC EVO promises to offer a completely renewed experience, taking advantage of the new physics and graphics engine, improved tire simulations, and the greater customization freedom that characterizes this chapter of the series.
The 0.3 Update: A Decisive Step Forward
AC EVO's 0.3 update represents much more than just adding new cars. It marks the simulator's evolution toward an increasingly complete and varied offering, capable of satisfying the needs of different types of enthusiasts.
With the arrival of the first GT4, AC EVO begins to outline what will be its definitive identity: a simulator capable of embracing the entire spectrum of motorsport, from road-going hypercars to the most specialized racing cars.
The sim racing community eagerly awaits this update, aware that the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport could become one of the game's most used and beloved cars, following in the footsteps of the success achieved in ACC.
Summer 2025 therefore promises to be scorching for Assetto Corsa EVO enthusiasts, with the promise of closer track battles than ever, thanks to a car that has already proven its qualities as a pure racing machine on the field.
