Circuit Zolder Joins Project Motor Racing

The iconic Flemish venue – barely 60 minutes east of Brussels and tucked inside Limburg’s poplar forest – is the newest addition to Project Motor Racing’s track line-up
Measuring 4.011 km (2.492 mi) and penned in 1963 by Dutch mastermind John Hugenholtz, Zolder trades Spa’s sweeping Ardennes for a tight amphitheatre of speed.

From F1 Glory to “Remschijven”

When the old 14 km Spa was deemed too dangerous, the Belgian GP moved to Zolder in the mid-’70s. Highlights include Gunnar Nilsson’s rain-soaked 1977 win and the tragic loss of Gilles Villeneuve on 8 May 1982, memorialised at the chicane that bears his name. After F1 left, the circuit forged its own legend with the 24 Hours of Zolder (since 1983) and its hefty brake-disc trophy, the “Remschijven”.
