F1® 25 Patch v1.04: AI Improvements and Important Fixes

The second F1® 25 update was released on June 23, 2025, bringing a series of significant improvements that address some of the most reported issues by the community. Patch v1.04 features improvements to AI starts, smoke generated from tires, and several bug fixes in Career mode.

Major AI Improvements

One of the most important changes concerns the artificial intelligence behavior during race starts. Thanks to feedback shared by the community, a change has been made so that AI drivers are a bit quicker off the line across all difficulty levels. This should make race starts more competitive and balanced, eliminating the disproportionate advantage that players often had during starting phases.

Career Mode Fixes

The My Team Career mode has received some crucial corrections. A problem preventing players from approaching new drivers for contract negotiations after their first season has been resolved, a bug that severely limited team management. Additionally, the Cost Cap graph display has been corrected, which erroneously showed previous season data instead of current ones.

Visual and Audio Improvements

Visual effects have received particular attention in this update. Tire smoke, generated from lock-ups and skids, is now less dense and dissipates more quickly, offering a more realistic representation. Audio has also benefited from corrections, with the resolution of problems related to radio communications during Safety Car situations.

An interesting addition is the update to the game's intro sequence, which now uses the official F1 2025 Opening Titles music, making the experience more authentic.

Circuit and Vehicle Updates

The Miami and Japan circuits have received minor track surface corrections, while lighting in team garages at Japan has been improved. Shadows have been refined across various tracks for a more realistic visual experience.

Regarding vehicles, Williams has received a significant sponsor update, with the introduction of Airia in the game. This has resulted in changes to driver suits, pit crew clothing, and paddock areas, as well as modifications to the FW47 car.

Customization and Accessibility

The Decal Editor has received several corrections to improve the placement and appearance of numbers and sponsors. Issues with decal mirroring and rotation options have been resolved.

On the accessibility front, the Tinnitus Relief filter in audio settings has been improved, now starting with lower frequencies and gradually increasing for a more comfortable experience.

Expanded Hardware Support

Peripheral support has been expanded with the addition of support for Asetek Forte, La Prima, and Tony Kanaan wheelbases on PC, based on the existing Invicta action map. EA continues to work with Asetek to further expand support for their wheels.
